Legacy of Conservation: AGS Youth Bear Hunt

For many years, Allagash Guide Service has been dedicated to sharing the tradition of the Maine outdoors with the next generation through our Annual Youth Hunt Giveaway.

In 2026, we proudly marked our 10th year of hosting this incredible event. What began as a simple opportunity has grown into a full weekend experience focused on mentorship, education, and conservation.

This is more than a hunt—it’s about building confidence, teaching respect for wildlife, and passing on a way of life.

What to Expect

New for 2026: Youth bear hunting is now a two-day event!

Winners arrive Thursday evening and spend Friday and Saturday learning different aspects of the outdoor world during the day, followed by guided hunts in the evenings.

Each youth hunter receives a goodie bag, participates in group activities and fun trivia games, and gains hands-on experience in a safe and supportive environment. Thanks to our generous sponsors we are able to give away many prizes like hats, t-shirts, turkey and deer calls, knives, and more.
